A decades-long career of commitment, leadership, and community service has developed out of a young man’s wish to help others in 2001 with the Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps in New York. The Palm Coast Fire Department is pleased to announce that Patrick Juliano has been promoted to Battalion Chief.
Juliano expressed his immense honor at being chosen as a Battalion Chief. For nearly twenty years, the Palm Coast Fire Department has been my home, my friends, and my workplace. Without the support and direction of so many incredible individuals who have guided and mentored me over the years, I could not have accomplished this feat. All of them have improved me as a person today.
Juliano’s career as a firefighter and his commitment in the community have been characterized by his elegance and kindness.
In addition to his regular responsibilities, he frequently manages to serve as the department’s spokesperson (and photographer), organize some of the city’s most solemn events, contribute to their soundtrack with or without other musicians, and play his bagpipes on countless occasions. He is one of the more recognizable faces and forces of the city and the fire department.
In 2002, Juliano obtained his New York State EMT certification, which marked the beginning of his public safety career. He became a volunteer fireman with the Palm Coast Fire Department in 2006, and two years later, he was promoted to professional firefighter. In order to expand his leadership abilities and understanding of public safety operations, he took a brief leave of absence from the fire department to work as the Northeast Florida Regional Manager for Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jeff Atwater. After returning to Palm Coast in 2017, he advanced through the ranks, becoming a Lieutenant in 2021 and a Driver Engineer in 2018.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Flagler College, a Master of Public Administration from Barry University, and certificates as a Firefighter (2007) and Paramedic (2009) from Daytona State College.
Juliano has been the department’s Public Information Officer and is a qualified Advanced Public Information Officer. He frequently represents the fire department in print, on radio, and on television. He oversees the department’s social media accounts, answers questions from the media, and makes sure the public is informed during crises and neighborhood gatherings.
In addition, Juliano is the department’s grants writer, helping other City agencies secure financing and acquiring essential resources for the fire department. He has served as the President and current Vice President of Palm Coast Professional Firefighters Local 4807, representing his peers, and he is the Commander of the Palm Coast Fire Department Honor Guard.
According to Palm Coast Fire Chief Kyle Berryhill, Patrick Juliano has devoted his professional, compassionate, and excellence-driven career to helping our community. We are immensely delighted to have him as a leader in our department, and his promotion to Battalion Chief is a well-deserved accomplishment.
Juliano’s elevation is the most recent development in a career characterized by a strong desire to strengthen Palm Coast, a dedication to public safety, and a passion for the fire service.
“I am immensely appreciative of this chance to serve with my siblings in a new role and collaborate with them to consistently provide the greatest service to our community,” Juliano stated.
