Ex-US Attorney Roger Handberg Returns and Oprah’s Steadman Headlines Flagler Tiger Bay’s New Speaker Series

The speakers at Flagler Tiger Bay’s annual wine tasting and grand reveal event at the Palm Coast Community Center on Tuesday night include a former U.S. attorney, an expert in human space flight, a business promoter with Israel, and Oprah Winfrey’s best friend.

The lineup is from the seventh year of the club.

Roger Handberg, the former Middle District of Florida U.S. Attorney (who did not escape Trump’s purge of Biden appointments), is the first to talk at Tiger Bay. On September 17, he will make his second appearance, this time on scams and frauds (probably not Trump). Handberg presently works for GrayRobinson as an attorney.

Jamie Foster, a professor at the University of Florida and assistant director of the Astraeus Space Institute, will be the main attraction in October. The Space Institute, which has collaborations with organizations like Space Florida and the Kennedy Space Center, focuses on human space travel and space survival techniques.

Aaron Kaplowitz of Florida International University, who is president of the United States-Israel Business Alliance, a nationwide group aimed at enhancing the economic ties between individual states and Israel, will speak in November, according to his bio there.

When it finally dawned on the full house at the Community Center that Stedman Graham, the author and businessman best known as Oprah Winfrey’s close, long-term friend, would be the main attraction at Tiger Bay’s annual holiday party, Flagler Tiger Bay President Jay Scherr, who anchored the big reveal, revealed who Steadman is (the man usually only known by his first name draws a blank until he’s associated with Oprah as thatSteadman, and really the only Steadman there is).

According to Scherr, he will discuss identity leadership as well as professional and personal growth. He owns the stage, and you hear him talk. You leave an event with Steadman Graham with the skills and tactics you need to be successful in life and business, despite the fact that he is vibrant, motivating, and aspirational.

The occasion also included the presentation of the Alice Stewart Civility Award, which was named for the former CNN analyst and regular speaker at the Flagler Tiger Bay Club, to Greg Davis, a co-founder of the club and its president prior to Scherr. At age 58, Stewart passed away in May 2024. Cheri Orr, who oversees a significant portion of Tiger Bay’s operations, was also recognized.
