Palm Coast Fire Department’s David Faust Appointed Battalion Chief of Training

David Faust was named Battalion Chief of Training by the Palm Coast Fire Department today.

In his new position, Faust will oversee the department’s efforts to hire, educate, and develop the organization’s present and future employees. For the Palm Coast community to continue receiving high-quality services, professional development, and operational readiness, this role is crucial. Among his duties are managing training and education for the entire department, coaching staff for future leadership positions, and setting and upholding professional standards throughout the company.

In 2006, Faust started working as a volunteer fireman for the Palm Coast Fire Department. In 2008, he was promoted to career firefighter. He graduated from First Coast Technical College with certificates as a firefighter, emergency medical technician, and paramedic. He then went on to get a bachelor’s degree from Flagler College and a master’s degree from Barry University. He was promoted to Driver Engineer in 2016, Lieutenant in 2017, and Battalion Chief in 2022 as part of his career growth. Chief Faust received the National Fire Academy’s coveted Executive Fire Officer title in December 2023, which is one of the greatest honors bestowed to fire service officials across the country.

According to Palm Coast Fire Chief Kyle Berryhill, Chief Faust brings a plethora of expertise, commitment, and leadership to this position. His dedication to professional growth and training will guarantee that our firefighters have the skills and information necessary to serve our expanding community both now and in the future.

According to a city-issued statement, the Palm Coast Fire Department commended Faust for his ongoing community service and congratulated him on his appointment.
