Two of my favorite people in the world are in one of my favorite locations, and their absence from the scene—politically at least—explains the spreading foolishness all around us. It’s Colleen’s birthday today, and I had never connected the dots between Hiroshima in 1945 and her birth in 1968. Not that the date is the only significant relationship. In addition to having the first-ever execution by electrocution (at Auburn jail in Upstate New York; Colleen was a city girl), she also happens to have the same birthday (and sense of humor) as Andy Warhol and Lucille Ball (1911). Colleen’s would coincide with the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, which was three years before her own. At least in some circles, she isn’t as absent as Bob has been lately. Have you had a chance to see her recently here?Stop the Grift: Florida’s School Vouchers Are Undermining Democracy and Defrauding Taxpayers. Like Eleanor, she should write a column every day.
