Gamble Jam: From 2 to 4 p.m., musicians of all ages are welcome to participate in the jam session by bringing seats and instruments. The Grace Community Food Pantry is operating today from noon to three o’clock via drive-thru at 245 Education Way, Bunnell. Pastor Charles Silano and Grace Community Food Pantry, a Flagler County disaster relief organization, are in charge of organizing the food pantry. Feeding Northeast Florida assists local families, children, and active and retired military personnel who are struggling to put food on the table, as well as elders. Collaborating with nearby supermarkets, producers, and farms, we salvage premium food that would otherwise go to waste and turn it into meals for the underprivileged. A large portion of the food pantry’s operations and storage space are provided by the Flagler County School District. Give 386-586-2653 a call to volunteer, give, or offer assistance.
Intermediate and advanced ESL Bible studies are held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1225 Royal Palms Parkway, Palm Coast, from 9:30 to 10:25 a.m. While studying the Bible, work on your English. English language learners at the intermediate and advanced levels are the target audience for this study.
Family groups run by Al-Anon offer hope and support to friends and family of alcoholics. Notebook: The Fugitive Slave Act was passed by the United States in 1850 under the generally forgotten taint of Willard Filmore’s signature. In his American Ramble (2023), journalist Neil King Jr. described it as disgusting. Because once that rule was passed, federal marshals might still grab you, put you in manacles, and bring you back to the other side, even if you had crossed the line into the land of the free and traveled hundreds of miles north of it—possibly as far north as Maine. The federal government was now tasked with upholding the laws that had enslaved you in the South, despite the fact that you were now in free states. After declaring a portion of the nation free, the government confused the decision and rendered it moot. Please explain the precise distinction between ICE roundups today and those conducted under the Fugitive Slave Act back then.

I reminded myself that it was only a tool, a huge, blind machine. However, I was not completely aware of its crushing force and weight. That was crazy. It is impossible to challenge the machine. With glacial impersonality, it both creates and blots out. It gauges the progress of time, the growth of trees, the lifespan of morality and bugs, and people in the same manner that it gauges money. And the hour on the large clock is, in fact, the hour, the day, and the right time. If a man is right, he is right; if it finds him wrong, he is done and cannot be argued with. It is both blind and deaf.
